Bill Lewis PhotoWelcome to the internet home of the 100 Black Men of Orange County, Inc.  We are a part of an International Organization known as the 100 Black Men of America which has more than 100 chapters worldwide.  The first chapter of the 100 was formed in the middle sixties in New York City with the basic mission of enriching the lives of the African-American community especially by working with the youth of the community.

The local chapter was formed in 1993 and is comprised of African-American men who are dedicated to community service with the motto of, “Real Men Giving Real Time”.  The chapter offers services around four basic initiatives which are Education, Mentoring, Health and Wellness, and Economic Development.

In 2004, the 100 BMOC had the distinction of being designated as, “Chapter of the Year” by the parent organization at the annual conference that was held in Atlanta, GA.  In 2005 the organization would receive another award from national in the form of being designated as a, “Flourishing Chapter” a status that only 13 of the more than 100 chapters would earn.  This flourishing chapter designation means that the chapter had successful and effective community programs covering all four of the targeted initiatives.  We are very proud of the efforts of the members of our chapter in making positive contributions that will benefit all of the society, and we look forward to having more opportunities to work with community partners in order to make a positive impact on the lives of as many people as we can touch.

So we invite you to review the information about our organization and its programs, and consider how you might engage with us in making a difference.
