MEMBERSHIP The mission of the Membership Committee is to assist with establishing a set of standards and expectations for individuals interested in and committed to the goals and philosophies of the 100 Black Men of Orange County, Inc. Our goal is to play a leadership role in the community by fostering relationships that help to identify future candidates for membership in the organization. It is also the responsibility of the Membership Committee to ensure new members are assimilated into an efficient, effective and productive organizational structure. Additionally, The Membership Committee in collaboration with the Social Committee will develop, coordinate, organize, and implement all social activities and programs to support the goals of the organization by nurturing relationships for brotherhood and togetherness. HEALTH and WELLNESS We strive to educate our community about the importance of health and wellness through our partnerships with area health agencies, and by providing community service by way of our annual Health and Wellness Cultural Faire. Information is provided on health issues that have a significant impact on our community. Issues such as breast and prostate cancer, juvenile diabetes, heart attack and stroke. We invite you to join us as we endeavor to reach our community for our collective survival. TECHNOLOGY The mission of the technology comittee is to provide assistance and advice to the organization and the youth we serve in the Passport to the Future Program. In achieving the latter goal, we provide information, education and resources in an effort to minimize the disparities produced by the digital divide. (those that have technology versus those that do not). This committee seeks individuals and resources to help upgrade our community by 1) providing technology education and knowledge; 2) making equipment and technology available and 3) encouraging students to consider technology-based careers. |
